Allie and Thunder
"Great Newwwwws! I rode Allie horse yesterday, and in the saddle this time! Thunder was doing the usual, standing at the fence chewing, taking it all in... "..."She did greaaaaaaaaaaaaat! It was funny that when I first got on her she started walking backwards...I don't know what that was all about because I was giving her plenty of rein, it must have had something to do with my body language or how I was sitting, (like maybe I was sitting too far forward) (laughing) it was like the blind leading the blind! Its been years since I have been in the saddle. Actually since I was about 18 She did not buck or crowhop or anything.... nothing. She truely is a gentle spirit I cant believe how good she was .... she was VERY patient with me She listened to me, I rubbed her on the neck and   reasured her she was doing a good job....and after she got over the backward thing we made it around the round pen... and around ... and around... over and over and I was so excited to be up there and actually in the saddle I stayed a little too long (about an hour) and.... OMG....this morning I thought I was gonna die! I hit the floor when I got outta bed. My inner thighs hurt sooo bad that I could barely walk today! Hanging onto her, I used muscles I didn't know I had. I didn't think about her being sooooo wide! What if I start walking like that? And they were looking at me all funny today at work too! (laughing) you shoulda warned me! And what if....I ride for years and years, will my legs look like John Lyons legs do? All bowlegged?"

Ginger, Basil, CoCo, and Sunny all went to the same wonderful home.

From their adopter:  "Ginger has taken a while to settle down and trust people.  It took three different farriers with different skill and 4 years to be able to have her stand still for them.  Now, she is a wonderful horse with an excellent disposition.  Sunny has always been willing to please and a total sweetheart.  They are both started under saddle now and doing wonderfully in the round pen.  Coco and Basil went to a nearby neighbor and are starting under harness and saddle this month and are so willing to please.  These are all such unique horses with a difficult past to put behind them.  I am so glad to have them."  January 2008
